- - Cedar Rapids - - In 2007 the people of
Cedar Rapids declared 2008 to be “The Year of the
River.” Little did they know that on June 13, 2008
that very river would crest 18.6 feet over flood stage. The flooding caused 18,000 people to be
evacuated, put 1,300 blocks under water, damaged 5,400 homes and 1,000
businesses. Many people had no flood insurance as the lived above the 100 and 500 year flood plains. Following the flood of 2008 we traveled several times to provide assistance to our neighboring state....
Spring 2009 - We Helped clean and move in a lady to her home. Also replaced all the windows in a home sitting in the Czech Village District.

The Grapes - Spring 2009 - We hung sheet rock through the home. They moved back home on 9/12/2009.

- - Cedar Rapids 2009 - - The cleanup and rebuilding continues......
October 2009 in Cedar Rapids we helped the people of Hillside Wesleyan Church who had stepped up and adopted Mary's home. This was a huge task and we were glad to be part of it.

October 2009 in Cedar Rapids, We stayed again at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. We gathered Bibles and presented them to the Director to share with kids who would be coming to Summer Camp and did not own one.

- - Cedar Rapids Spring of 2010 - - We spent a good deal of time working in the shop/warehouse for Block By Block building shelves and tearing down block walls, construction at homes and community projects like painting dozens of signs to be placed in flower beds.

- - Cedar Rapids 2010 - - We worked primarily on three homes in the Fall
Cedar Rapids Fall 2010. The garage was leaning and Craig was so excited to finally use the winch on his Jeep!

Cedar Rapids Fall of 2010 We worked on two more houses that were just down the block from each other....Our friends from Hillside brought in lunch for us!

- - Cedar Rapids 2011 - - In 2011 we made one trip but worked on several projects at seven different locations. The friends we had made on our previous trips were there to volunteer with noon meals... it was awesome!
